Teamwork and creative collaboration is a key component in the public relations industry. For two classes in the School of Journalism and Communications at the University of Oregon, my team and I created strategic plans for local organizations.
As Amazon Park as our client, my team and I created a strategic public relations plan targeting families with children ages 12 and under. Due to the lack of consistent funding and maintenance, the Eugene Parks System was working to create a more inclusive and accommodating facility through the renovation of Amazon Park, especially for ADA accessible and Latino communities. My role was to create messaging, goals, objectives and strategies that promoted inclusivity for ADA accessible families.
As Eugene Parks and Open Space as our client, my team and I created a strategic public relations plan to recruit a multigenerational volunteer base to attend monthly volunteer events. In my role, I helped conduct 30 intercept surveys at the Family YMCA and based on those findings create messaging and tactics to reach families in Eugene.
